Beef Pepper Rice (Pepper Lunch Inspired)
Ingredients
For the sauce
Instructions
-
Make the sauce
In a small bowl, combine garlic, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oystesr sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, and sugar (or honey). Stir until well mixed.
-
Cook the onion
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil, then sauté your sliced onion until soft and nicely browned. Spread the onions out to form a bed in the center of the skillet.
-
Assemble the skillet
Place your cooked rice over the onions, then arrange the thin beef slices around the edges. Add the corn on top of the rice and drop in the butter.
-
Add the sauce
Pour your sauce over the beef, rice, and corn.
-
Mix and cook
Stir everything together quickly, letting the beef cook through as you mix. The sauce should coat the rice, beef, and vegetables evenly.
-
Finish and serve
Sprinkle with chopped green onion and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
To minimize chopping, I cut in the green onion with scissors.
